Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What type of events can be held at 3rd Place?
We give preference to events that welcome all. Especially those that encourage a sense of genuine connection and provide a space for individuals to engage and develop a sense of belonging in a community.
Can my band have a show at 3rd Place?
We are committed to supporting the Boone music scene in any way possible. However, 3rd Place is not technically a music venue and cannot provide bands and musicians with live sound equipment or promotion for the event. If your band has the means to organize a show, fill out the event request form found on our contact page and we’ll see what we can do!
How do I have an art exhibition here?
We are proud to participate in Boone’s First Friday Art Crawl every month. If you are interested in organizing an exhibition at 3rd Place for First Friday, fill out our contact form! Exhibitions outside of First Friday are considered, depending on the availability in our calendar. We are especially interested in exhibitions that explore themes of spirituality or give a platform to marginalized voices.
Is there a fee for using the space?
Generally, we ask event organizers to donate 10% of the profits generated by the event, up to $150 per day, back to 3rd Place for use of our space. This money goes directly into maintaining the physical space and keeping 3rd Place accessible to individuals and groups regardless of means. If an event does not generate any profits, we ask that the organizers donate whatever they can afford.
What type of resources do you have available for events to use?
We have four 6 X 2.5 foot tables, twenty- eight folding chairs, and a projector screen available for event organizers to use. Unfortunately, 3rd Place does not have any live sound equipment, projector, or tablecloths that are available for use.
